Later than now

is earlier than tomorrow

in most cases but not

all

the ways of time.

Once upon a yesterday -

the day before today -

before never was around,

when days were long

and years were short

tick tick tick tick stopped.

I just thought I’d share a poem I wrote a few weeks ago. So here ya go. Enjoy.

Post-apocalyptic
motorcade of memory
sidles down the lane of compunction.
Raven torrents of smoke spew forth
from scorching earth.

The cavalry arrives
lost, lugubrious,
late.
