So this week I watched The Return of the King: Extended Edition, Octane (finally), and Swimming Pool. I thoroughly enjoyed all three. They’re all from completely different areas of the movie genre spectrum, however.
The Return of the King: Extended Edition – Well, it’s RotK so you know it’s gonna be awesome anyway…the only thing I was kinda disappointed about was them leaving out the scouring of the Shire. That part is just so important to the story that I thought it would be been included. *shrugs* oh well.
Octane – After looking for it anywhere for like a year and a half, I finally found it being shown on some movie channel on TV. So I watched it. It was pretty good. It was one of those movies that just gets weirder and weirder as it goes along…then it all makes sense in the end. At least I liked it…
Swimming Pool – a French film about an English novelist at her publisher’s house in France writing a new novel, and her publisher’s daughter shows up. It’s a mystery…and probably sounds lame from that little summary, but I don’t wanna give anything away. It was good and reminded me, stylistically, of The Hours.
I also got to tour the Executive Briefing Center at work the other day. It was pretty cool seeing the elite conference center that only like 5 people have access to. There were free cookies.
