HD-DVR…w00t!

Wednesday, August 25th, 2004

The trivia last night was pretty freakin’ hard again…but we got 6 out of 10 right on the Burt Bacharach songs round. That’s good considering none of us are that old.

We also got our HD-DVR box today…the stupid Time Warner people make you setup an appointment for the guy to come out and install it cause they think that “it’s not that simple”, which as a result, makes the wait for an HD-DVR box about 4 or 5 days. But when the guy got there, Kip was like, “our setup is pretty complicated, is there anything special you have to do or can I just have the box?” And the guy was like, “sure.” So Time Warner…YOU’RE RETARDED!

cause it’s all going off without you

Go see Garden State….RIGHT NOW!!!

Friday, August 20th, 2004

Oh man!!! We just got back from Garden State….simply an amazing film. I haven’t seen a movie that good in a really long time. Everyone should go see it instead of the stupid other movies playing right now. The soundtrack r0x0rs too. It really makes you think…it’s definitely a self-improvement kinda movie; it makes you say, “wow…I really haven’t woken up and lived yet” and that’s pretty powerful.

Eureka!!

I decided today that the best part of a doughnut is the part around the hole.

mmm….doughnut

long time w/o an update

Wednesday, August 18th, 2004

So I haven’t updated this in a week or so cause I had to work a whole buttload of hours for move-in. 64 hours this week to be exact…and that’s re-freakin’-diculous. Anyway, so Garden State comes out this Friday and it’s gonna be awesome. Peter said it was definitely in the top 3 movies of the year so far, so that’s good. That’s with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind being first obviously.

We watched Elf this evening; it’s a fun little movie…nothin’ super awesome or anything, but there’s one great reason to watch it if for nothing else:

^^^^^ Zooey Deschanel’s eyes ^^^^^

Kip also took a job with a company called Enovia in Charlotte this week…so that’s good for him. He thinks he’ll start sometime in September.

…and there’s exactly 2 weeks until I go to Seattle…w00t!

19/20…oh yeah…

Tuesday, August 10th, 2004

So the trivia tonight was pretty hard. We 0wnx0r3d the music round though getting 19/20 points. We only missed one title of a song. They were all Weird Al covers and you had to name the artist and song he was making fun of. We missed a Soul Asylum song called Misery…we thought it was Frustrated Incorporated. But it’s all good, cause we 0wnx0r3d.

From up here the city lights burn, like a thousand miles of fire

alrighty…the new story section is up and running…it should work just fine…everyone click on Stories and contribute something to our first story, “The Battleship.”

Check this out…Japanese people are freakin’ crazy!

w000000000000000000t!!!

So I just did one of the most spontaneous things I’ve ever done…I bought a plane ticket to Seattle after about 15 minutes of spawning the idea to just go. Tim made me realize I really have no reason not to. I’ve always wanted to visit that area and Peter lives there, so that’s super awesome. I’m really excited about it. Plus, I’ll have something else to add to the photos section.

I’m adding a sweet new feature to my site…it should be operational tomorrow. It’s like those never ending stories you used to do in school or at camp where someone starts writing a story, then someone else adds a piece, then someone else adds their part, etc., etc. It’s almost done…I just have to fit it to the style of the site and link it. So everyone’s gotta add pieces to the stories so we have fun things. Maybe one day I can publish a book of them. But yeah…that’ll be up tomorrow.

w00t!, part 2

holy freakin’ crap!

[adult swim] likes to taunt us with cancelling their biggest franchise…but it looks as though they’re just messing with us all…which is what I figured. The first new episode of Aqua Teens is next week and it’s called Remooned. The Mooninites return again, only this time to cash in a check. Seeing their cash, Meatwad and Shake both try to impress the Mooninites so they get some of the dough. So that should be freakin’ hilarious.

We apparently came in 5th last week at the pub quiz night. w00t! Hopefully we’ll do even better this week.

I Finished Fight Club the other day, and the plot is different in a few big areas from the movie. The biggest difference is how the narrator meets Tyler (not on an airplane) and the ending where they are trying to destroy the credit companies (that doesn’t happen). That’s not in the book. There’s also a really big fight sequence at the end that’s not in the book where the narrator fights 50 guys and gets the crap kicked out of him.

We saw The Manchurian Candidate on Saturday. It was very interesting. It’s not the exact same plot as the original movie apparently, and it’s obviously updated to take place today. It’s kinda slow moving though and that was the main problem I had with it. I think I give it a 5.9 out of 10.

*sighs*…our president is stupid

What’s with outside today?…it’s the perfect temperature and overcast’ness and everything….it should be like this every day.

I beat Peasant’s Quest this afternoon. It’s freakin’ awesome. It’s made in the style of the old King’s Quest games, so if you grew up on those like I did, you’ll love this. It’s make by the Homestar Runner guys.

So our president is a retard….here’s what he said yesterday at the signing ceremony for the new $417 billion defense spending budget:

“Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we,” Bush said.

“They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we.”

…what a moron. He should start reading the speeches people write for him before he gives them.
