Freakin’ out…

Wednesday, June 30th, 2004

So I applied for a job doing Crpytanalysis at the NSA this morning…and it’s creeping me out….heh. Those guys are scary. Their thing says, “U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants. A security clearance must be granted prior to employment and you will be required to undergo extensive pre-employment processing. This includes: aptitude testing; an interview with a psychologist and a security interview conducted with the aid of a polygraph; and a personnel interview.” That’s about the creepiest thing I could think of. So we’ll see where that goes I suppose.

Anyway, Spiderman 2 is tonight…it’s gonna r0x0r the b0x0r…hard. I’ll let ya know how it is.

New Feature!!

Tuesday, June 29th, 2004

I added a new area to the website per Peter’s suggestion. It’s a stick comic section. There will be different artists; mainly me, Peter, and probably Kip. I’ll add new strips whenever I make/get new ones. It should be fun…and gory…

Spiderman 2 is tomorrow…w00t!! It’s gonna r0x0r the b0x0r I’m sure. I’ll make a post about it after I see it.

Only 8 days until NY. |-|4><0|2!!

ah…the good old days of stick violence

probably a stupid move by Microsoft.

It looks as if the Xbox 2 will not be backward compatible with Xbox games. This seems really stupid to me as the new console will have the same name and probably use the same kind of media. They’ll have even more of a problem getting a hold in the market since no one will be able to play their old games without the old Xbox. This makes me wonder if the next Nintendo console will move towards backward compatibility. They’ve never done it before, but their media has changed from a cartridge to optical, so it’d be easier for them to do that I’d assume. I’m still gonna predict that it won’t be though, just because I don’t think Nintendo feels they have to do that to sell their system. I guess we’ll find out in the near future.

You can read the article about it here

Aside from all of this, no one will even have room for another Xbox.

hahah….the alien was in the pool

Edward Norton is totally brilliant and probably one of my favorite actors. I just decided that and thought I’d share.

I’m looking to get all of Michael Crichton’s fiction in hardcover. I’ve got Congo, Disclosure, The Lost World, Airframe, Timeline, and Prey and realized today that they’re ALL first editions. That’s freakin’ crazy pants cause the first edition of Congo has doubled in value…and I have two copies of it. Anyway, if anyone has hardcover first editions of Jurassic Park, Sphere, Eaters of the Dead, Andromeda Strain, A Case of Need, Terminal Man, Rising Sun, or The Great Train Robbery I’d be very interested in knowing about it.

Dr. Katz was freakin’ awesome.

haha, the first graders peed in the pool

holy goat cheese farmer!!

I don’t know if you watch Jeopardy or not…if you don’t then you’re retarded…but anyway, the dude on there right now that’s the champion has just won 15 games in a row. He’s got 486,000 dollars or somethin’ crazy like that now. The guy’s won more money in Jeopardy than anyone ever, and that’s awesome. I totally am going to try out for Jeopardy if they come around.

We watched Secret Window the other day…it was good too. Although, the corn thing I don’t quite understand; the hat guy was totally creepy and reminded me of the creepy old guy on the Family Guy who kept calling for Chris when he was the paper boy.

Only 2 more weeks until H.O.P.E…w00t!!

movie time!

Dodgeball…funniest movie i’ve seen in a long time. I recommend it, and make sure you stay through the very end of the credits. Ben Stiller is one very lucky d00d too…lemme tell ya.

I also saw Runaway Jury too. It was good, very John Grisham’esque, which makes sense since he wrote the story and all.

Another movie that I just remembered that was awesome when it didn’t really mean to be was River’s Edge staring Crispin Glover and Keanu Reeves. I only thought of it because we watched it right after Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (freakin’ awesome!) and saw the big poster for Dodgeball. Anyway, it’s probably supposed to be serious, but it’s so freakin’ hilarious everyone should see it.

In other news, I learned this past week that Lens Crafters is a total ripoff and am glad I recognized that before I became a customer there. Always go to a private optometrist with an optician over a chain. Prices are a hojillion times cheaper even when you have a 75 dollar off coupon for Lens Crafters, and they won’t tell you stupid crap that doesn’t make sense. For example, at Lens Crafters, they’ll tell you things like, “oh, you can’t put your prescription in that frame,” which, as I now know, is total crap. If you do go there and they try to tell you crap like that, just kick the person in the face and leave.

Bob Ross – “All right, we are going to use a fan brush here, and why don’t you take some hunter green, and we are going to put a happy little bush right down over here in the corner there, and that’ll just be our little secret, and if you tell anyone that that bush is there I will come to your house and I will cut you.”

DirectX can suck it…just like the dolphins

Thursday, June 17th, 2004

So after like 2 and a half hours of trying to get two computers behind one router to connect to the same game that uses DirectX outside of the router, I’ve decided that it’s near impossible. Maybe it’ll work with a VPN or a VLAN…I don’t know, but it’s freakin’ obnoxious. This is just another one of the myriad of reasons that Microsoft sucks donkey. Why does it always have to use exactly all of ports 2300 through 2400 to connect to a game? I don’t get it. You should be able to specify which ports you want DirectX to use. Microsoft should change that crap. If anyone from Microsoft reads this, Please fix DirectX so it doesn’t blow goats!! You guys are smart, you should be able to make DirectX work through NAT just fine…idiots…

Crazy cool transformer dealy Ryan showed me. Check it out…by the way…that’s Flash!

Suck it dolphin!!

New updates!

Monday, June 14th, 2004

I got rid of a separate portfolio section and split it up because I decided it would end up being way too long. I added some stuff to the music page as well as to the art page. I’ll add some more stuff to the art page soon.

So the H.O.P.E. (Hackers On Planet Earth) conference is in like 3 weeks. That’s gonna be totally sweet and awesome. I’ll post pictures after we get back and get them developed and what not.

Oh yeah, and check out the new random picture if you haven’t seen it. It’s awesome cause it’s a hotdog bridge!

all i find are souvenirs of better times

Finally….done with the software

Thursday, June 10th, 2004

After being thoroughly pissed off by stupid log software I decided to just write my own. And, after three days, I’ve finally got it up and running so it looks right. All so Mike could be happy and use his stupid alternative browser. But now it’s cross browser compliant and that’s a good thing.

I’m adding some more stuff to the portfolio page in a little while. Some music and some art stuff.

Prisoner of Azkaban

Sunday, June 6th, 2004

I saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban today…it seems as if the movies are meant more for people with little imagination who have read the books to put some visuals to the story. The movie's plot was very choppy and probably made little sense in some parts to people who haven’t read the books. But other than that, it was pretty good.
